It has a clear, singing voice with strong note definition from top to bottom, a powerful but controlled bass and a bold, orchestral character. It suits classical repertoire and works just as well on stage, in the studio and in most other styles.

Pianoteq doesn’t play back samples. It models the strings, soundboard and microphone placement in real time, so the sound is generated as you play and responds to every change in touch. The YFX also includes the latest soundboard refinements from Pianoteq 9.

Key Features

9-foot (275 cm) concert grand, physically modelled

Even timbre and touch response across the whole keyboard

Smooth dynamic response with a percussive attack and wide dynamic range

Modelled strings, soundboard and microphone positions

19 presets, from natural and studio voicings to soft, contemporary and ambient sounds

Lightweight and fast to load, like all Pianoteq instruments

Custom tuning, mic positioning, morphing and layering with Pianoteq Standard and Pro

Preset highlights

Natural: Warm, Player, Prelude

Studio: Recording

Soft / muted: Sombre, Felt

Contemporary: Pop, Mix

Atmospheric: New Age, Chorus, Cosmic

Requirements

Pianoteq 9.3 or later (Stage, Standard or Pro)

Windows, macOS or Linux

Runs standalone or as a VST3, AU or AAX plugin in your DAW

Please note: This is an add-on instrument pack for existing Pianoteq owners.
