THE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE THAT BECAME A PLUGIN
It all began a few years ago…while working on a project at Heritage Audio HQ, someone at engineering said that this classic tape delay would sound better by adding this or changing that.
It soon became a recurring conversation among our engineering team, so we ended up acquiring an original unit on the second-hand market.
THE TAPE DELAY SOUND OF A CLASSIC, BUT HEAVILY IMPROVED
Once the unit (Serial # 34553) ws home, it was modified again and again by Heritage Audio staff, transforming it into the Heritage TAPEoPLEX.
The changes that this unit has gone through over the years have turned it into a tape delay machine with a unique and distinctive sound that we just had to convert into a plug-in.
A UNIQUE, UNEQUALED PIECE TURNED INTO A PLUG-IN WITH ADDED FEATURES
Taking advantage of the extra options that a plug-in allows, we have converted the TAPEoPLEX into a stereo unit where you can choose different echo times for the L and R channel or link them to have the same or different delay time constant on each side, following either the same tempo or the DAW’s tempo.
What started out as a fun challenge at the office has developed into the most powerful tape delay plug-in available today.
