AI that stays on your machine

The headline addition in X18 is offline voiceover and subtitle generation. Text-to-speech and speech-to-text now run locally on your PC — no internet connection, no AI credits consumed, and nothing from your project leaves your computer. That matters for client work under NDA, and it means unlimited use rather than a metered allowance. Cloud-based AI voiceovers remain available too, with over 100 languages and speaking styles.

Find any shot in seconds

AI Face Recognition scans your media library, identifies faces and groups every clip and photo the same person appears in. Add custom tags for people, locations or scene types, then pull it all back up with smart keyword search. On a long-form project with hundreds of clips, that's the difference between editing and hunting.

RAW images in the timeline

X18 adds proper RAW image support, with broader coverage of newer camera formats, faster load times and intelligent caching — so stills sit in your edit at full quality without bogging the timeline down.

AI image tools

Sharpen and clean up footage, soften harsh highlights, and cut through haze, fog and smoke to recover detail. Colorize analogue black-and-white material in seconds, or push a clip into painterly territory with AI style transfer. All applied as easily as a standard effect.

Remove anything from the frame

Every edition ships with proDAD Hide V2. Mask an unwanted person, sign or piece of gear and the plug-in reconstructs the surrounding image area automatically, frame by frame — clean results that hold up under scrutiny in a way manual cloning rarely does.

Group clips into nested sequences and edit them as a single unit. Build a recurring intro or a complex transition once, save it, and drop it into future projects instead of rebuilding it from scratch.

Colour that carries the look

16-bit deep colour processing, 3-way correction, exposure curves, LAB adjustment, advanced shot match, and vibrance and luminance control that preserves natural skin tones. Apply, compare and save LUTs — included presets or your own custom camera and effect LUTs. Audio worth listening to

A real-time mixer with EQ and dynamic range compression, EBU R128 loudness normalisation, 2.0 and 5.1 surround, MIDI instrument support and a BPM wizard. Word-by-word highlighted subtitles track the spoken audio in real time.

Built for speed

The INFUSION Engine 3 with GPU-accelerated AVC and HEVC import and export, Intel Hyper Encode, AV1 in and out, accelerated preview playback, preview rendering and batch processing. Blackmagic Intensity and DeckLink supported. Shortcut editor and MAGIX video editing keyboard support for anyone who edits by muscle memory.
