From the makers of Pianoteq and Organteq, Modartt Airteq is a new kind of virtual instrument. It isn't a sample library or a conventional synth. Airteq builds every note in real time by modelling air moving through virtual pipes. The result is sound that breathes, drifts and reacts like a real acoustic instrument, but goes places no real instrument can.
It's made for composers, film and game sound designers, and electronic producers who want evolving textures with organic movement instead of static loops.
Why Airteq Sounds Different
Dynamic Aerophone Modelling. Modartt's new modelling engine calculates how each pipe responds to its wind supply as you play. Nothing is pre-recorded, so no two notes are identical.
Modulation that changes the source. In most synths, an LFO or macro just moves a filter. In Airteq, modulation reshapes the airflow itself, so the instrument's behaviour changes as you play.
Build your own instrument. Mix pipe families, including flutes, reeds, strings, stopped pipes and mixtures, to create hybrid instruments with their own character.
Expressive control with MPE. Airteq responds to velocity, pitch bend and aftertouch. It fully supports MIDI Polyphonic Expression and also works with breath and wind controllers, which makes it a natural match for Roli, Osmose, Linnstrument and EWI-style controllers.
170+ presets. These cover natural pipe sounds, cinematic atmospheres, electronic textures, rhythmic pulses and MPE patches. Use them as they are or as starting points for your own sounds.
