Recorded across 7 locations at some of finest studios in the world, we carefully selected and creatively used ere-defining vintage microphones and vibey analog gear to ensure an authentic, unmistakable character. The drums have been further mixed and treated with equal creativity, using tape machines, cassette recorders, iconic 12-bit drum samplers, 12” vinyl, lush spring reverbs and expensive tube gear.
By utilizing vintage microphones, tape machines, cassette recorders, lofi pedals, and a range of analog gear, we’ve meticulously crafted each sound to embody the true essence of authentic lofi aesthetics.

The sound of tape
We’ve captured the unique warmth and depth of analog tape using a range of classic tape recorders. Multi-track drums were recorded on Studer tape machines for their rich, warm fidelity, Ampex ATR-102s for their crisp high-end clarity, 1980s Tascam 4-tracks for their distinctive character, and even handheld dictaphones for their lofi, intimate charm.
Each piece of gear adds its own sonic signature, ensuring that every sample in Drift embodies the true, nostalgic essence of tape-recorded sound.
Cut to 12″ Vinyl
We cut over 1,000 samples directly to 12″ vinyl using a Neumann VMS-70 cutting lathe, capturing the distinctive quality and texture that only vinyl can offer.
This process imparts an unmistakable character to each sound, enhancing the vintage tone with the classic crackle and depth that are hallmarks of pre-digital recordings.
The result is a collection of samples brimming with authenticity and nostalgia, with a rich, analog sound that will make your music stand out.

Drift is compatible with both the free Triaz Player and the full Triaz version, and all 13,000 included samples are available as standard WAV files for use in your favorite DAW or sampler.
