In Media Composer 2025.6, Avid introduces several significant enhancements aimed at streamlining editing workflows and improving media management. Proxy workflows are now accessible to Ultimate license holders, no longer requiring Avid Nexis Edge, and allow seamless switching between high-res and proxy formats like DNxHD LB and H.264. On-prem Avid NEXIS systems now support this proxy functionality without needing Edge deployment. Major improvements to the Transcript Tool include a simplified UI, keyboard navigation for word selection, the ability to delete individual transcripts, and more predictable behavior when switching transcription languages. MediaCentral integration now automatically imports transcription data alongside media. Avid Titler+ gets workflow boosts too, with new clip text labels visible in the timeline and full EDL export support for titles. Editors can now generate SubCaps within marked ranges, and the AutoSequence and Spot to Timecode features now utilize the Camera column for improved multi-camera sync. Additionally, OpenTimelineIO (OTIO) import is now supported for broader interoperability, users can set AVC Long GOP encoding quality, and HDR-specific relinking is now available in Dynamic Relink workflows.
