A complete hi-fi system in two speakers

The HD6 is Audioengine’s flagship powered speaker, and it replaces a stack of separate gear. The amplifier, DAC and Bluetooth receiver are all built in, so you plug in your TV, turntable, streamer or phone and you’re done. No receiver, no amp, no extra boxes.

The walnut veneer finish suits a living room, study or studio lounge as much as it suits a desk.

Why the HD6

• Serious amplification. 50W RMS per channel (150W peak total) from a class A/B analogue amp in the left speaker. Enough to fill a living room without strain.
• Custom drivers. 5.5" Kevlar woofers in die-cast aluminium baskets for tight bass and clean mids, plus 1" silk dome tweeters for smooth, detailed highs.
• Built-in 24-bit DAC. The optical input and Bluetooth both run through an AKM AK4396 DAC, handling up to 24-bit/192kHz on optical.
• aptX HD Bluetooth. High-resolution wireless streaming from compatible phones, tablets and computers.
• Made for your TV. Connect via optical to get far better sound than any TV’s built-in speakers.
• Add a subwoofer. A variable RCA line output lets you add a powered sub such as the Audioengine S8.
• Solid build. Thick, internally braced MDF cabinets with tuned rear ports keep resonance and distortion down.
• Aluminium remote. Volume, mute and standby from the couch.

• Output: variable RCA line out (subwoofer or other equipment)

Turntable note: you’ll need a turntable with a built-in phono preamp, or a separate phono stage.
