Bettermaker Mastering Compressor

The Bettermaker Mastering Compressor is an analogue VCA mastering compressor with total recall and DAW plug-in control. The audio path is fully analogue, while a 5-inch touchscreen and free plug-in give you precise, repeatable settings.

Three compression modes change the character: BM is Bettermaker's own gentle, versatile voicing, SG is SSL-style and DX is dbx-style. Detection switches between peak and RMS, and the topology between feed-forward and feedback. Stereo, dual mono and Mid/Side modes are available, with solo and sidechain preview.

The sidechain has high-pass, low-pass and a fully configurable parametric filter, and can be routed through a hardware insert. Drive and THD controls add odd and even harmonics when you want colour, and a dry/wet mix gives parallel compression without extra routing. A range control caps the maximum gain reduction.
