Epica Audio Resonant Reverb by Joe Chiccarelli Plug-In

Reverb you can play like an instrument. Resonant Reverb was built with Joe Chiccarelli, the 11-time Grammy-winning producer and engineer behind records by The White Stripes, The Strokes, Morrissey, The Killers and U2. It captures a technique he has used for years: filter the signal before and after a plate, push the resonance, and the reverb stops being background space and becomes part of the sound itself.

The signal flows from a resonant filter and drive stage into a plate reverb with 1176-style compression and a wide stereo image, then out through a second, ultra-clean resonant filter.

Key features

• Dual resonant filters, pre and post reverb, with variable Q and harmonic distortion
• Plate reverb engine with decays from a tight 0.5 s ambience to 47 s atmospheres
• 1176-style compression inside the reverb for density and sustain
• Bypass the reverb and use it as a standalone resonant filter
• 58 factory presets designed by Joe Chiccarelli for vocals, drums, bass, guitars, synths, keys, horns and mix utility
• Keeps low-end punch and top-end clarity in the mix

Where it shines

Vocals that need space without mud, snares with a tuned resonant tail, guitars and synths that need a distinct character, and sound design where the reverb itself carries the part. The Chiccarelli presets work as complete tone-shaping chains, so they're mix-ready from the first load.
