The Osmose CE 49 is built around the exact same expressive keybed technology found in Expressive E's award-winning Osmose synthesizer. It responds not just to where a note is played, but to how it is pressed, bent, and released — enabling per-note vibrato, pitch bending within chords, and expressive note-off gestures. Despite its depth, it retains the familiar feel of a standard keyboard from the very first note.
Included with the Osmose CE 49 is Ctrl-e, a free companion software ecosystem featuring over 900 expressive presets powered by sound engines from Synapse Audio, AAS, Kilohearts, GForce, Dawesome, and Vital. Each preset is purpose-built to respond naturally to the keybed's pressure, pitch, and gestural input, removing the need for complex MPE routing or plugin-by-plugin setup. Ctrl-e is designed as an evolving platform, with expanded libraries and deeper integration planned over time.
Beyond expressive playability, the Osmose CE 49 includes built-in performance tools such as an MPE Arpeggiator and Press Glide, as well as smart DAW integration for transport, mixer, and macro control. It is compatible with Live 12+, Cubase 15+, Bitwig 5+, and Logic Pro 12+. With a white aluminum top, DIN MIDI I/O, USB-C connectivity, and two assignable pedal inputs, it is built as a serious, long-term creative instrument.
