Width and warmth from one plug-in. GreenHAAS combines Haas-effect stereo spreading, three saturation flavours and chorus/flange modulation behind a playful garden-themed interface designed by mix engineer Ken Lewis. Drop it on a flat synth, guitar or vocal and it opens up, warms up and makes room in the centre of your mix.
It is built to be played by ear: move the faders, try the presets and stop when it sounds right. Go gentle for subtle character you only notice when it's bypassed, or push it for full-on distortion and wobble.
Features
-
Saturation – three flavours (INFRARED, ULTRAVIOLET and GAMMA), HEAT fader for amount and SUNDIAL for dry/wet blend
- Lo- and hi-cut on the input so you only saturate the frequency range you choose
-
Haas spread – 36 variations with left/right timings from 2 to 72 ms, from mono to very wide
-
Watering Can to set stereo spread while keeping mono compatibility in mind
-
Six Flower modulators for chorus and flanger movement, from gentle to wobbly
-
Fertilizer feedback for more intense modulation effects, plus a global hi-cut
- More than 50 presets, many created by Ken Lewis
Where it shines
Lead and pad synths, guitars, keys, backing vocals, slap-style ambience on an aux, and 808s or bass that need a bit of grit. A quick way to get the "three plug-ins and an FX send" sound on a single insert.
