Rave Generation OTTX (Digital Download)

Multiband dynamics processor combining aggressive upward and downward compression with per-band waveshaping. Features 3-band Linkwitz-Riley crossover, per-band Inflator curves, parallel compression mix, and Smart Clip 0dB ceiling limiting.

OTTX is a multiband dynamics processor that combines aggressive upward and downward compression with per-band Inflator-style waveshaping. The signal is split into three bands (Low, Mid, High) using phase-coherent 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover filters, then each band receives independent upward compression to bring up quiet detail and downward compression to control peaks. The Depth control acts as a master intensity dial: at 0% the compressor is bypassed, higher values progressively increase both upward and downward compression intensity across all three bands. Separate Upward (0-200%) and Downward (0-200%) controls let you bias the compression character toward expansion or limiting independently. Per-band Inflator waveshaping adds harmonic density and perceived loudness without traditional clipping. The Curve controls (Low/Mid/High, 0-100%) apply a polynomial waveshaping algorithm that increases harmonic content while preserving the signal envelope, delivering results from subtle warmth at low settings to aggressive saturation when pushed hard. Each band has independent makeup gain (-40 to +6 dB), threshold offset (0-200%), and downward compression ratio (0-200%) for precise control over the dynamics of each frequency range. The adjustable crossover frequencies (Low/Mid: 28-148 Hz, Mid/High: 2000-3000 Hz) let you target exactly the right frequency regions for your material. The Mix knob (0-100%) enables parallel compression by blending processed and dry signal. Smart Clip 0dB provides soft-clipping followed by hard-limiting to prevent digital overs. Smooth mode switches to RMS detection with a 6 dB soft knee for more transparent, mastering-grade compression. The sidechain high-pass filter (0-200 Hz) prevents sub-bass pumping without affecting the audio path. Per-band gain reduction meters (Low GR, Mid GR, High GR) show compression activity in real time: positive values indicate downward compression, negative values indicate upward compression. Signal flow: Input → In Gain → 3-Band Split (Low/Mid/High) → Per-Band Compression → Per-Band Inflator → Sum → Out Gain → Mix with Dry → Smart Clip 0dB → Output.
