Gorilla Drive V2 is Safari Audio's analogue-style overdrive and saturation plug-in. It goes from gentle harmonic warmth to properly pushed grit, and works on guitars, bass, drums, synths and full buses.

Version 2 adds a transient shaper, separate low and high drive stages and a new Ape Mode for extra distortion and squash, plus Safari's new preset browser and gain tools.

What it does

• Germanium-style overdrive. Smooth, harmonically rich saturation that thickens rather than fizzes.
• Independent Low and High drive (new in V2). Drive the low end and the top end separately, so you can add weight without muddying the highs.
• Transient Shaper (new in V2). Bring the attack forward or let the sustain bloom after the drive stage.
• Ape Mode (new in V2). Switch in extra distortion and compression when you want it rougher.
• Tone Tilt. One control to shift the balance from dark to bright.
• Blend. Parallel saturation without a separate send.
• Battery Emulation. Mimics a tired pedal battery for unstable, vintage-style grit.
