Reason Studios launches Bassline Generator

Reason Studios have launched Bassline Generator, a new Player device designed to simplify bassline programming across a wide range of genres. By mixing, matching, and modulating pre-built phrases, users can quickly create compelling low-end grooves suited for Techno, House, Neo Soul, Hip Hop, Trap and more. With over 100 patches, including Player presets and Combinators, the device offers instant inspiration and ready-to-use bass sounds straight out of the box.

Bassline Generator features a built-in note display, allowing for hands-on control over groove shaping. Additional tools like the Variator introduce pattern variations, while Note Range and Minorness controls help tailor basslines to fit a specific track. The device also supports CV sequencing, making it a flexible addition to any Reason workflow. Users can control the root note from another device and send a sequence over CV. Users can build basslines with minimal musical knowledge by combining the 64 on-beat and 64 off-beat patterns, although Bassline Generator also allows for more complex editing and experimentation.

Bassline Generator is available now as an add-on Rack Extension from the Reason Studios Shop. It is also included with a Reason+ subscription, which provides access to the full Reason Rack, all present and future content plus exclusive sound packs. Alternatively, users can purchase Reason 13 as a one-time licence
