Your Favourite VST3 Plugins Can Now Go Immersive with Waves!
Here at Koala Audio, we're always excited about new tech that pushes the boundaries of music production. That's why we're thrilled to share some big news from our friends at Waves Audio. They've just rolled out a major update to their Immersive Wrapper, and it's a game-changer for anyone working in Dolby Atmos or other immersive audio formats.
What's the Big Deal?
Until now, the Waves Immersive Wrapper was a handy tool that let you use any Waves mono-compatible plugin in a multichannel mix. But here’s the exciting part: the latest update blows the doors wide open by adding support for VST3 plugins from any developer!
That’s right. Now you can seamlessly integrate your go-to VST3 plugins—whether they're from Waves or your favorite third-party manufacturer—into your immersive workflows. This is huge news for music producers, film and TV mixers, and game audio designers, giving you the freedom to use the tools you know and love to craft incredible immersive experiences.
Finally, Proper Bus Processing for Atmos
One of the biggest headaches in immersive mixing has been the inability to use bus processing the same way we do in stereo. We’re used to shaping our stereo mixes with bus compression, EQ, and saturation on the master fader to glue everything together. The Waves Immersive Wrapper with the new update now makes this possible in immersive formats.
The Wrapper works in a clever multi-mono configuration, so you can apply processing to your entire immersive mix (up to 9.1.6 channels!) and get that cohesive, unified sound you’ve been chasing. It’s like having a master bus for your Atmos mix, giving you the same level of creative control you’re used to in the stereo world.
Key Features of the Updated Waves Immersive Wrapper:
-
Now supports VST3 plugins from Waves and other brands.

-

This is a massive step forward for immersive audio, and we can’t wait to see the creative possibilities it unlocks for our community.
